Certify a team against one standard

Cohort certification builds a bench of people who assess risk against the same standard and produce evidence in the same form.

§ 1 — The problem

Why individual certification is not enough

Most organisations concentrate AI-risk judgement in one person, whose conclusions are difficult for anyone else to check and whose departure removes the capability.

Certifying a cohort changes the unit of capability from a person to a function. Assessments become comparable across teams, findings become reviewable by peers, and the organisation stops depending on one individual's memory of what was decided and why.

§ 2 — Corporate membership

The standing relationship, and the assessment

An organisation buys two different things from the Council, and they are worth separating. Cohort certification is the assessment — a group of your people sit an examination and those who pass hold a credential of their own. Corporate membership is the standing relationship that surrounds it: the rate your people pay, the administration, and the reporting an L&D or risk function needs to show what was done.

You can take either without the other. A cohort can be certified with no membership, and an employer can hold membership before anyone has sat anything.

Corporate planRenewed annually

Corporate Membership Plan

Employers certifying a team, and approved training partners.

  • Individual membership for named staff
  • Volume examination rates across a cohort
  • A single administrative contact for registration and results
  • Competency mapping against your existing risk taxonomy
  • Cohort reporting suitable for L&D and compliance records
  • Organisational listing on the member network

Corporate membership certifies no one. Each individual is assessed separately, and an organisation cannot hold a credential — only its people can.

§ 3 — Process

How cohort certification works

  1. 01

    Competency mapping

The Council maps your existing roles and risk taxonomy against the published competency framework, identifying which tracks apply to which functions.

  2. 02

    Cohort formation

Candidates are grouped into a cohort with a single administrative contact, a shared examination window, and an agreed preparation schedule.

  3. 03

    Preparation

Optional, and not sold by the Council. Cohorts may use an approved training partner, their own internal programme, or the published syllabus for self-study. Preparation is never a condition of sitting the examination.

  4. 04

    Assessment

Examination administered by the Council, assessing applied judgement rather than recall. Results are decided by assessors the Certification Panel appoints, separate from everyone who delivered preparation and not told which route a candidate took.

  5. 05

    Register and reporting

Successful candidates receive a publicly verifiable credential. The administrative contact receives a cohort report suitable for L&D and compliance records.
