The Council holds no accreditation. It is not accredited under ISO/IEC 17024, is not a member of any accreditation forum, and its credentials carry no government recognition, licensing effect, or regulatory status anywhere. Nothing on this site, in a credential name, or on a certificate implies otherwise — and any third party claiming otherwise on the Council’s behalf is misrepresenting it.

AI Assurance Council is an independent private industry certification body; its certifications are industry credentials and do not represent government licensing or regulatory endorsement. The legal entity behind the Council is identified in the terms of use.

ISO/IEC 17024 is the international standard for bodies certifying persons. The scheme is being built to its requirements from the start, because retrofitting impartiality is close to impossible. In practice that means the things this site already publishes: separation of training from certification, a published impartiality structure, an appeals process independent of the original decision-maker, a code of conduct with due process, a public register.

Building to the standard is a design claim about this scheme, not a conformity claim. It does not mean, and must never be read as, certification or endorsement under ISO/IEC 17024.
